UC Researchers Use Digital Technology to Discover Our Past

As presented through a new YouTube series entitled “Our Digital Life”, UC researchers are using cutting-edge digital tools to help us visualize, research and learn about things of our past that we could previously only imagine. The program incorporates vivid animations, simulations, and interviews with researchers in archeology and history to demonstrate how this technology is transforming the way we view our past, and the way scientists and scholars are using the new tools and information to study archaeological sites and their artifacts. The technology is also opening up new ways that archaeological evidence and sites can be presented to the general public for educational purposes.

First released on June 15, 2012, the video, “The Past - Digital Archeology and History”, visually relates the story, and can also be viewed at www.youtube.com/uctvprime.
