REGULATION

Art. 1 The competition is open to all young piano soloists and has no age nor nationality limit; its main aim is to promote music culture and to encourage young people to study music. 

Art. 2 The competition will be held on  March 26 – 27 – 28,  2007 in Lamporecchio near Pistoia (Tuscany), Italy. 

Art. 3 Performances will be open to the public and candidates must perform all music from memory. 

Art. 4 The order of performance will be drawn by the Artistic Director one week prior to the beginning of the competition and will be maintained throughout the competition. Pianos will be made available to candidates for rehersal. 

Art. 5 Lodging and other expenses (travel, food etc.) are payable in full by contestants.  

Art. 6 The jury will,accordingly with the execution artistic level, award a First, Second and Third Prize. First Prize is exclusive and indivisible, Second and Third Prize can be awarded  to more than one candidate, who will share the bursary award. Candidates will perform over three rounds; repeatition of the performance of any work is not allowed. 

Art. 7 Each member of the Jury will sign a declaration of standing towards candidates. The jury’s vote will be expressed by means of “YES” or “NO” at the end of each round. The jury’s decision is final.

Art. 8 The winners’ names will be announced on Wednesday, March 28th, after the conclusion of the final round with the orchestra, when the official prize-giving cerimony is to be held.

Art. 9 At the beginning of each performance, candidates must show the jury: 1) valid ID  2) sheet music of the works they intend to perform.

A rt. 10  By registering for the competition applicants tacitly accept all the rules laid out in this notification. The italian version of this announcement will be deemed official in the event of a complaint.

1) certified copy of passport or other valid form of  official personal and nationality ID

Art. 14 ACM Rospigliosi reserves the right to make small changes to the articles listed in this notification. ACM Rospigliosi declines liability for any risks or damages of any nature to contestans that may occur while the competition is taking place.

Cherubini” di Firenze e all’ Accademia Pianistica internazionale “Incontri con il Maestro” di Imola. Pier Narciso Masi: Concertista, didatta. Maurizio Matarrese: Concertista, docente al Conservatorio "N. Piccinni" di Bari. Giuliano Mazzocante: concertista. Gabriele Ottaiano: Concertista, docente presso il Conservatorio “G. Da Venosa” di Potenza. Giovanna Valente: Concertista, docente presso il Conservatorio “N. Piccinni” di Bari.

Art. 15 In the event of absence of any of the appointed jurors, The Artistic Director reserves the right to appoint  substitute juror/s.

PROGRAMME 

Round One (preliminary round): Free programme. Time Limit 15min

Round Two (semi-final round): Free programme including at least one relevant work, or part of it, by Schumann Time Limit 30min 

Round Three (final round): A piano concerto chosen among the following: Mozart: K 466 – 467 – 488 – 491, Beethoven: n. 3– 4 –5, Chopin: n. 1 n. 2,  Schumann: A minor, Liszt: n. 1 e 2, Grieg: A minor, Ciaikovski: n. 1 

(A maximum of three contestants will be admitted to perform with the orchestra).

1st prize”        -  2.500,00 bursary, Cup and Certificate

- Invitation to attend as jury member  at Competition’s next edition.

- A concert  performance at “Teatro San Antonio”  Marina di Pietrasanta

The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize will also be offered a free complementary night at a local partner hotel plus   50,00 as partial reimbursement for travel expenses.


- A prize of 150,00 will be awarded by the public during the final evening (finalists only) 

- CD recording of the final performance with the orchestra

- A Plaque will be awarded to the Best Performer of a work by Schumann (open to all contestants)
