HI everyone
Iv suitably impressed with the amount of information and help available through this forum, so i thought id add my pennies worth,
with regard to water ingress and retention within the bulkhead of most VW/Audi cars i can advise that i have read the blogs and well done to everyone for this input i have just emptied my bulkhead successfully and very simply, by using a long flat head screwdriver
Left of the battery negative terminal at the bottom of the bulkhead, the rubber grommet should be partly (about a quarter of it) visible even if its covered with several mms of dirty water, a strong torch or better still a L.E.D.light should expose the rubber grommet, and to the left of this, at least on my car (A4-B6-2004) is a fixing protruding upwards about 10-15 mm high and 3-4 mm from the grommet edge this can be used as a lever to ease out and down the gromet, with the screwdriver blade, this will drain the bulkhead void almost completely, without removing anything else, even the additional grommet under the servo as i have found it is not nessasary to remove both, in all a 10 min job no cut hands no loss of codes etc hope this helps
