Our Tucson Sandwich Shops Have Deep Local Roots

Those now famous little chocolate chip cookies that come with every Baggin’s sandwich were born in the kitchen of Cheree Garrett-Jeffries. Back in the early 1980s, Cheree and Jay Garrett hopped off their motorcycle after a long trip from Seattle, Washington. They had a shared vision of making Cheree’s chocolate chip cookies a Tucson favorite alongside a menu of wholesome, creatively crafted sandwiches. From their first store on Pima Street, they sold 7 sandwiches on their first day in business. The next day, they sold 15. It wasn’t long before that one shop turned into several, and today, Baggin’s makes thousands of sandwiches each day—and even more cookies!

With each of the brown bags we serve up, we hope to deliver something special for our customers, whether that’s a favorite weekday lunch during a busy work week, a catered menu for a graduation party, or a reliable dinner option for picky families. For many Tucsonans, stepping into our stores brings back great memories of stopping into our Speedway store while attending the University of Arizona or working their first job behind the counter at one of our 11 Tucson-area locations.
