LIVE AUCTIONS ADMITTANCE RULES

To place bids during LIVE AUCTIONS for a lot users have to:

  • to be registered in Nomisma auction website (click here to register)
  • make a LIVE AUCTION subscription request (at least 2 days before the auction)

LIVE AUCTION - HOW LIVE AUCTION WORKS

LIVE AUCTION users will enter the room auction using a web interface and will place bids with the same winning chances as room auction users (see also TERMS OF SALE page). LIVE AUTIONS users will communicate via a computer operator, representative of Nomisma, the operator will act as go-between for room and online users. Online users will place bids for  lots through a web interface.

LIVE AUCTION - BIDS

Live auction users can just offer the minimum bid (minimum price increase), proxy bids are not allowed during the live auctions.

LIVE AUCTION - PROXY BIDS

In online auctions, as You probably know, it is possible to exceed the minimum bid, using proxy bids.

Live auction and room auction will start always from the actual winning bid (i.e. coin base price: 100 euro, user Y proxy bid 300 euro, user Y is winning at 110). In case there's a higher proxy bid, the online winner will raise automatically his bid untill his proxy bid offer (i.e. user Y 300 euro).

Proxy bid system will not be available for Live Auction users.

LIVE AUCTION - BORDERLINE CASE: ?CONTEMPORARITY OF LIVE AUCTION BID AND AUCTION ROOM BID

The transmission of a live auction bid implies the following steps:

  • the live auction user makes his bid
  • user's computer send the bid to our web server
  • auction room operator computer gets the updates from the web server
  • Nomisma operator sees the online user bid
  • operator communicates the bid to the auctioneer

Although these steps are very fast, a borderline case could happen: the online bid can be communicated to the auctioneer after an equal or superior auction room bid. In this case the final judge is the auctioneer.

For this reason it is possible a bid to be canceled by an equal auction room bid. In this case it's not an error, but a borderline case, even if unlikely.

LIVE AUCTION - BIDS COUNTDOWN

After lot live auction start, the online user has a time limit (with a countdown running) to place his bid. After the time is over, the online user will not be able to place further bid for the current lot.

The countdown starts every time a new bid is inserted. In case of user bid the countdown obviously doesn't start and the online user waits for auction room bids. When there's no auction room bids, the lot is knocked down.
