2023 Harvest has SOLD OUT

2024 Harvest TBD

Report from Olivestri on last year's Quality

Here is what the good folks at Olivestri have said about the harvest this year:
"Regarding this year's harvest we've noticed a significant shortage of product, and some areas have been subject to fly attacks, albeit of limited extent. Nevertheless, our consistent effort has allowed us to select the best olives, enabling us to produce excellent oil with a delightful fruity aroma and a balanced taste between bitterness and spiciness. The color also exhibits a beautiful green hue."

Price Last Year

Did you see this on SNL?  With our appologies to our good friends in Jersey, when olive oil prices make it to Weekend Update, it gives us pause.

Not withstanding the reports we are getting of a meager harvest, especially in Spain, Olivestri has managed to give us a very fair price.  We will only have a 5% increase over last year. We think as we get further into the year, we will see higher quotes.

Casa de Case is one of the only sources in the United States
of true
Italian olio nuovo.

We fly it in direct from Frantoio Olivestri in Umbria as soon as it is crushed.

All of our olio nuovo is completely unfiltered.

For a precious few weeks after crushing, olive oil is wonderful pungent, hot-peppery, and has an intensely fruity, vegetable quality. This is called olio nuovo, literally "new oil".

All of Italy celebrates the olio nuovo with festivals in the frantoio (olive mill), and bottles of the intense oil appear in every restaurant.
