Welcome to the HK Factory Walkthrough!

You should be able to get through the HK factory with relative ease, but just in case you can't, or just want to know what all of the options are, I'm making this walkthrough.

Keep in mind that this is just for the HK factory, not how to get there or reassurance that the quest is working properly.

Anyways, on to walking...

After you've dealt with Atris at the Telos Academy, and had your little chat with the Handmaiden, the game will play some cutscenes and you'll end up as HK-47 in the Telos Military base.

The door you need to go in is right in front of you, for convenience. Level-up HK and equip him with some good weapons and armor. Get ready to fight!

The second you walk in, the HK-50s know that something's up, just not what exactly. You are now free to roam the factory. Your goal here, of course, is to find a way to get to the Manufacturing level and shut all HK posers down.

But of course, we can't make things easy for you can we? The doors to the Manufacturing level are conveniently locked. It seems that we need to somehow create a loss of power.

You can learn this same information by accessing any of the security terminals in the room. It will explain it a bit more in depth and you'll get a journal entry so you don't forget what you need to do.

Either by exploring or doing some sleuthing on the security terminal, you end up finding out that there are three areas to the HK factory. The Reactor Core, The Munitions Center, and the Control Center.

Just to clarify, it doesn't really matter which order you do these areas in. In fact, the fastest way to do it is the reverse order for which I'm about to describe. Once you've gone through it multiple times, you'll get a feel for how the whole process runs, and you can do it in whatever order you think is best.

Destination 1: The Reactor Core.

Since we need to shut down the power to open the doors, it looks like our first destination is the Reactor Core. You'll have pleny of Telos Military Droids and those little floaty sentinels to keep you on edge. In fact, the HK-50's will interject and say something similar to what I just told you (along with realizing that your are indeed HK-47). After a little mayhem, you reach the reactor room. On one side, you'll see lots of cool machinery and steam a window (sorry, you can't get there) and on the other side, you'll see a single door which as you might have guessed, leads to the Reactor Control Terminal.

The HK-50s will chime in about your attempts to reach the Manufacturing Plant, and how your self-preservation protocols will prevent you from doing it. Keep this in mind for later. For now, just ignore them and enter the door.

Activate the Reactor Terminal. You'll see a few options. You can open the doors, but since you need to shut down the Reactor to open them, you should probably go with that first. You could also log out too, but you'd just come back later.

Your attempt will fail because the Communications line is open. That's okay, it's only the HK-50s doing this and it's supposed to happen. They'll tell you that you are going to be harming HK-50s if you do it and that you need to back off. Again, keep this self-preservation mumbo jumbo in mind for later. Since all of these HK-50s are going to robot hell soon anyways, you can just ignore them and try again.

And now we have our next objective: We have to go shut down the Comm system so we can get through to shut down the Reactor core.

We're off the the Control Center to shut down the communications (insert evil laugh).

Destination 2: Control Center.

Run back to the main room and run down the hallway to the Control Center (left corridor on the map). The HK-50s will chime in about how they made improper defenses for this map and continue to bicker.

Fight your way through more Military Droids and Sentinels and you'll find yourself in one of the cooler rooms of the level (and it's even cooler when you have a good graphics card). I'm not sure what's going on with that hologram of Telos, but it looks like they're keeping track of all the activity on the planet. Log into the computer and disable the communications. Once you've done that, the HK-50s will be completely flabbergasted by strategy. Your business here is concluded. Off to the Reactor Core again.

It looks like our plan paid off. Since you shut down the Comm system, the HK-50s have no way to pester and humiliate you. Just like the Sith, they have revealed themselves!

This is one of the cooler parts of the HK-50s in general. As HK-47, you get to ask them questions about their functionality, their history, and lots of other useful tidbits. A few things about Revan, the chaos they impart... stuff like that. When you're done, just choose the bottom option to engage assassination protocols...

...and then the self-preservation protocols come into play.

In their pretentios speeches, the HK-50s will reveal to you that you cannot harm them because you still recognize them as you. So, in order to be able to get rid of them, HK-47 will effectively have to forsake his HK droid heritage... or just have his self-preservation protocols modified. At this point, you could go to the Reactor Core, but it will say something about your self preservation protocols getting in the way. It's off to the Munitions Center to see what we can do about it.

Destination 3: Munitions Center.

Head down the area to the Munitions center. You'll of course run into Military droids. One route will lead you to a reddish room and then to a shooting range. There's nothing much to see there. If you go to the room to the right (on the map), you'll reach a well-lit.. uh, Munitions Center type of area. Something that looks like this:

Our first goal is to head to the computer ("When in doubt, use the computer." I always say).

Once you're by the computer, you'll see a pull chain hanging from the ceiling. You can do the computer stuff first or pull the chain first, but it doesn't really matter. I'm gonna pull it/interact with it. Out comes a drunken little probe droid.

HK-47 will start a dialog with P1-DK (our drunken probe droid) and hint that he's wanting his self-preservation protocols modified. Yeah, he's a little tipsy from the night before, but it's our only option right now.

And boom! Your self-preservation protocols are deactivated! Once you find any HK-50s, you will be able to shoot them to smitherines! But lets not forget about the computer...

Access the computer, and choose Access Programs. Then Access Droid schematics. Observe what happens:

(That black HK unit should in fact be a hologram. Due to my crappy graphics card, the effect isn't present.)

How sneaky, the HK-50s started building a new generation of HK units! Looks like you may have some issues taking some of them out. Fortunately, it seems that they're offline for the moment. Do you want to resume production though? It's your choice of course because we'll be dealing with them either way. Anyways, your business here is pretty much concluded. Head to the Reactor Core, shut it down, and of course the HK-50s will sick some of their own on you to try to impede your progress... which won't stop you at all, right? That's right.

Take a breather. You deserve it. You're about to jump into some really heated robot battling action.

Half of the Manufacturing Plant is fighting, so I'm not going to go into great detail about all of the fighting. You have turrets, HK-50s and a few rooms which have some amusing training sequences in them, but you kill them anyways.

Ah, but the HK-50s have decided that mass numbers may be able to stop you. Can you take on 8 HK-50s at once? Of course you can.

Once they're all taken care of, it's time to head up to the front of the factory. You'll find a computer terminal up there that looks exactly like the one in the picture below.

The obvious thing to do here is to try to shut down the factory, though you'll soon find out that you're going to have to shut down some production lines before you can shut this thing down successfully. You have not only HK-50s to shut down, but some HK-51s too. An important thing to note here is that when the primary line is deactivated, the backup line units will come online automatically.

At this point, you can decide to visit either the HK-51 side or the HK-50 side. Even for a walkthrough, I don't feel like explaining the specifics, so I'll just do two examples for how this would play out.

HK-50 side first:

Facing down on the map, take a left and head down that corridor.

You'll run into 3 HK-50s who want to kill you, but just kill them. You'll also notice some HK-50s that are sitting behind closed doors, waiting to be activated. Keep on running down until you reach a terminal.

You can do a number of things with this terminal. 2 of them are completely pointless, but they're in there anyways for the fun of it. The main thing you'll want to do is download the upgrades, and terminate the production line. You can do this either browsing through the computer options or just blowing the terminal up. When you log out, some HK-50 units come walking in, chiming about how you can't stop them.

They'll talk about how they've built a new generation of HK units, the HK-51s. How cool... and remember what that terminal said about production lines? Yep, since you terminated the primary, the HK-51s are up and about, either ready to kill you or waiting for your command. Despite being online, you'd still need to shut them down...

...with the added difficulty of about 20 HK-51s now loose in the facility.

That said, you would run to the HK-51s side, terminate production, and then go to the factory terminal to finally shut down the whole thing. Work your way through the HK-51s back to the main level and leave the way you came in.

HK-51 side first:

Rewind back to the main area. Facing down on the map, head right into the HK-51 side. You won't find anyone in an active state on this side. You'll find the HK-51 terminal. Access it and do whatever you need to do. Terminate production on your progeny, and run to the other side.

Things will play out as they did before once you reach the HK-50 side...

Except for this time, you won't have any HK-51s to fight on your way out! Convenient, huh?

That pretty much raps up possibly the least informative walkthrough ever made. I leave it this way for a good reasons, other than just being lazy. I want you to play around with the order of things and see what you can get done. Explore! Discover! Experiment!

I hope you enjoy the rest of TSLRCM.
