Desk highlights Zangief as one of Street Fighter 6 Season 2's biggest winners with latest combo compilation

The Season 2 patch was recently released as the biggest update the game has ever received thus far. Many would argue that Zangief emerged as one of the biggest winners of the patch thanks to all the buffs he received.

As such, Desk recently decided to highlight Zangief's buffs by showcasing some of the new combo routes that the new patch has provided him. Needless to say, Desk is willing to show off clips of Zangief before and after the patch to really demonstrate the improvements.

1v1 and 2v2 MultiVersus Beta tier lists just before the full release

MultiVersus is gearing up for its big rerelease on May 28 — this upcoming Tuesday. From my early impressions of MultiVersus after getting the chance to check out the game a little early, I can safely say that the game is going to be dramatically changing, for the better, compared to how the game felt during its beta period.

RPS FGC recently created 1v1 and 2v2 tier lists for the MultiVersus Beta, for the purposes of documenting what the game was like. Of course, RPS FGC isn't just citing his own opinions as he ended up reaching out to top MultiVersus competitors, online stats, and tournament results to construct both tier lists as objectively as possible.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon polled fans asking what fighting game they want to see return and the results are pretty surprising

Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon is fairly prolific on Twitter. The long-time game developer and flat out legend in our industry often tweets on his personal X profile and drops hints at things to come for his games, shares fascinating tidbits of behind-the-scenes information, and occasionally ask followers questions to gauge their interest in various topics.

Recently, Mr. Boon put out a poll on his personal Twitter account asking fans what fighting game series (unrelated to Mortal Kombat and NetherRealm Studios) they'd like to see return the most. Boon posted the results today, and the game fans want most is actually pretty surprising (sort of).

Forget 2-touches — Marisa can 1-touch Akuma and KO him in Street Fighter 6

"2-touches" in Street Fighter 6 refers to scenarios where a player could wipe out the opponent's health bar with essentially two openings and a whole lot of resources. Marisa was/is most notorious for doing this thanks to her incredible damage output, but other fighters definitely could hit a combo, punish the opponent for making a mistake on wake up, then close out the round with a second devastating combo taking them from 100% health to 0 just like that.

While Marisa was the queen of 2-touches in Street Fighter 6 Season 1, it looks like she can actually pull off a "1-touch" sequence on Akuma here in Season 2.

Super secret Shin Akuma in Street Fighter 6 now has his first full-fledged combo video thanks to Desk

Not long after his official release it was discovered that Street Fighter 6's newest DLC character, Akuma, has some super secret stuff that you can access the way you would a retro game's cheats with a special code. Upon meeting the criteria in battle, players are able to gain access to what is essentially Shin Akuma, a buffed up version of the new fighter who has additional supers and special moves that you cannot access with the standard version of the combatant.

It's a difficult process to gain access to Shin Akuma in battle, and unless both players agree to it, there's no chance you'd be able to actually get him in a real match. However, Shin Akuma is a training mode monster's dream, and combo master Desk has gone ahead and put together the first full-fledged combo video for the super secret boss version of the latest DLC fighter.

We're over the moon for Akuma's latest design in Street Fighter 6 as Capcom made the franchise's most threatening character bigger, bulkier, and more intimidating than ever.
