The activities included in this area
cover priority topics related to the shared demersal and
small pelagic fishery resources in the Adriatic Sea. These
topics were identified in the framework of the AdriaMed
Working Groups. Specific proposal, which regard areas
recognised by the experts as requiring attention, were
formulated and the research priorities were presented and
discussed at the 2nd AdriaMed Coordination Committee
meeting (Portorož, Slovenia, November 2000). These
included studies and research on: shared fishery resources
appraisal, genetic stock structure, commercial catch
monitoring, trawl gear selectivity, bibliographical
reviewing and updating, and on-the job training.
The research programmes actively performed by the AdriaMed
Project and the Adriatic institutions involved are
presented in summarised forms, which highlight the main
aspects (title objective, preliminary results) as well as
more details information describing the meeting organised,
the training exercises carried out, the publications
issued, the main results obtained.
Many outputs were
published as contributions for the Adriatic region and for
the whole Mediterranen through the GFCM and SAC and CAQ
Sub-committee meetings. |
