Editor of CrossNodes, EarthWeb's site for network professionals and flagship site of internet.com's networking channel.  (Now known as JupiterMedia.)  Full responsibility for site's vision, planning, assigning, editing, and publication schedule.  Wrote weekly promotional newsletters with subscription list of over 25,000 readers.

 

Ziff-Davis Media

Full-Time Consultant, 2000 - 2001

Developed and designed taxonomy for PC Magazine's new Web site Extreme Tech, targeted at hard-core computer hobbyists.  Created the site's Resource Center by identifying relevant links, qualifying them for inclusion, rating the sites, and writing over 100 reviews.

Editor, 1998 - 2000

Editor of Networking, Systems Management, and Linux Technical Centers for major Web site specializing in feature news and reviews for Information Technology professionals.

Web Site Producer / Network Systems Coordinator, 1995 - 1998

Systems Administrator for major science museum in Jersey City.  Duties included network management, Web site design and content development. Demonstrated new technologies to public on museum floor for special events, and held seminars regarding online and computer technologies for museum members.

Operations and Editorial Support Manager, 1991 - 1993

Developed public face of cutting-edge online service. Created community forums, ensured that staff of 30 system operators had tools needed to maintain service, headed up Customer Service, and wrote operations manual. Acted as 'ambassador' to top executives in NY corporate headquarters to heighten awareness of potential online markets.

 

Citibank / The Humanware Agency

Senior Systems Manager / Tech Support, 1988 - 1991

Oversaw all LAN operations. Incorporated multi-platform and remote access connectivity, interfaced with corporate-wide e-mail system, and specified requirements to expand to a WAN.  Responsible for user training, extensive beta testing, benchmark testing, assessing appropriate platforms, specified custom software tools for network, purchasing, financial planning and product demonstrations for this interface/human factors design group.  Logistical responsibility for demos and field-testing of Humanware products.  Did product and industry research to maintain use of leading edge technology, including user education efforts. Interacted with vendors, other Citibank technical support groups, software developers, and journalists.
