A Perfect Blood excerpt

I’ve been fielding a lot of questions about the expected A Perfect Blood excerpt that we get about this time of year. My publisher usually makes available several chapters, but that likely won’t happen until the last two weeks before publication.  If you’re looking for something sooner, the first chapter is available at the back of the mass market of Pale Demon, which just came out this Tuesday, so you can easily find it now on the shelf.  Yes, I’d rather you buy it, but if you are out shopping, you can always stand in the aisle and read it.  Shhhh, you didn’t hear that from me!

If you partake in e-books, you can get the same sneak peek in the specially reduced price version of Every Which Way but Dead, which isn’t available yet, but you can pre-order it on Amazon or the B and N store.  If you’re looking to round out your e-book library, this is a fiscally responsible way to do it as well.

I will also be putting up the first chapter on my website, but it likely won’t happen until my publisher starts releasing chapters.

Now . . .  no guaranties because I can only go by what’s happened in the past, but if you are like me and tend to forget things that are going to happen in the near future and like reminders, you can sign up for Harper Voyager’s author tracker program, and you might get email notice when the chapters are released.  I can not get the widget to sign up for this imbedded in the code here, so just go to the front page of my website www.kimharrison.net and there’s a box on the left panel.  If it were me, I’d sign up for both, simply because you never know which division at Harper will be in charge of promotion.

Happy Friday!  There is snow on the ground, which means there will be flour in my kitchen.  And maybe a little slush on my boots . . .

PS.  Signed glow-in-the-dark posters are in the mail, so you should get them soon.  Any copy of the Hollows Insider you can snag for holiday gift giving for  your Hollows reader at home should still have that same glow-in-the-dark cover.  Happy Hunting!

Cute lil dogs. :). Someday when I have more room I want a lil pup.
    Have a great day!

  2. Yay, got my poster in the mail on Saturday. Love it. Also, I was just going to take a sneak peek at the excerpt in the back of the paperback (wonder where I got that idea from?), but then I saw the inside cover artwork and was like whoa, gonna give Kim more money. So now I have it in both formats, oh well. The inside cover art would make a great poster by the way. OOOh and I loved the first chapter, it was such a little tease with Trent at the end, I know that it is gonna drive me crazy for two months. lol

    • Excellent, Michelle! I’m so glad you got your poster!

I agree, that inside artwork is fabulous! The cover crew has fun with some of the concepts, I think. 🙂

Mmmm, the first chapter of A PERFECT BLOOD. Yep, I kind of like ending with Trent like that.

  3. I was just at the grocery yesterday and saw the pale demon paper back. I got super excited because I knew there had to be an excerpt in the back. Hehehe my family went to do more shopping and I simply stood there the whole time reading. Happiness ❤

    • Ooooooh! I love hearing about you finding it in the grocery store! I never see them in the wild like that. I’m glad you had a chance to read the first chapter. 🙂

Alex and Xander look happy, healthy, and sleek. It’s a great pic of the two of them.

Teasers are sometimes a torment. Two weeks before release is soon enough. I can’t resist reading them, but it sometimes makes the wait that much more excruciating.

  6. Happy Happy Friday ma’am,

Not much going on here. My cold is almost gone. The dogs managed to tree a cat. How they treed a cat on the other side of the fence in the neighbors yard, I don’t know. Have a great weekend.

  7. Ohh *doing a happy dance* I’m getting so excited about the excerpt. Maybe we can “negotiate” with your publisher also over cookies?

Anyway, I looove the pic of your babies! thanks for posting it. They definitely look ready for a long cozy winter! do they like to play with the snow? or try to hunt the flakes when it’s snowing?

    Have a nice weekend!!
p.s.: I sent Guy 2 recipes! let him know so he doesn’t delete the email =)
    Flo.

    • Ahhh, publishers move at their own pace, Florencia. I’ve learned not to try to speed the glacier up, lest it crush you beneath. 😉

Trust me, when you weigh 7 pounds, you hide from the snow.

I got the recipes! Thank you! I’m going to try one out this week when I get really hungry.

Hi Ms. Kim-Its Jim from Warren-thanks for the pics of Alex and Zander-Smudge wants it up on he clawing post right away! That reminds me -ai hope you got to see the National Dog show last week-we Foxes are dog fanatics-my older sister uses Golden Retrivers to watch her grandkids out in the yard, and my younger sister used Yellow Labs. They lived in State College then, and their old Mollie once had to fight off a wandering bear! I bet Alex and Zander could yip in a bears ears untill it had brain fart.I always had dobermen myself, my old Sheba adored my fosterdaughter-slept beside her bed untill she got her own apt.

Happy Friday! I am of the small minority who doesn’t like teasers, sneak peeks or spoilers! I hate reading bits and pieces and like my treats all in one fell swoop. The anticipation for fav authors books is all part of the fun! 😀
