See I am human too and those Mickey nuggets are just so darned easy!
9-12-12
Running late again and at the last minute it sounded like a good idea to make the sandwich a tic-tac-toe board. Z said he and a friend played with the tomatoes and cucumbers and then each got to eat their respective parts! =)
9-10-12
Mickey’s back! All because we like the Italian plums and they look like noses!
9-7-12
I’ve been slacking on my bento duties and the kiddo informed me that he really likes the Mickey Nuggets cold. It’s a quick and easy way to make a bento! I hope to get back on track soon.
9-4-12
Tried a bento from the “Just Bento” book, tuna salad and potato salad. For the record, the kiddo wasn’t super excited about this one and most of it came home. Live and learn!
Bento 8-31-12
Picked up a fun book at Disneyland called “What’s Cooking, A Cookbook for Kids” which had this cute recipe for Faux Escargo!
Bento Year 2 Day 8
Faster than fast, quicker than quick. I am LIGHTNING! Ka-chow!
I love, love, love using egg sheets. The boy likes them too! They are super easy and handy when you need a weird color (like blue- see Perry, Day 2).
Egg Sheet Recipe:
Voila! You now have an egg sheet you can use to decorate your bentos, or just munch on!
Bento Year 2 Day 7
Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas!
I’ve said it before, you win some, you lose some. I didn’t have a concise plan for this one and the ingredients were being ornery. Oh well, the little boy likes it and that’s really all that matters!!
Bento Year 2 Day 6
“On your marks, get set… uno for the money, due for the show, tre to get ready, and quattro to… I can’t believe it… GO!” -Luigi
So this year is going to be a little tricky for bento making because I am traveling quite a bit. Hence the gap in days. This lunch is inspired from my trip to Disneyland and the new Cars Land! Expect to see more cars in future lunches.
Many of you have asked what the “black stuff” is in many of my bentos. It’s “nori” or seaweed. The same stuff that sushi rolls are wrapped in. You can find it in your local grocery store in the Asian aisle. You can also get a great deal on a Regular or Supersized SeaSnax Gluten-Free Vegan Seaweed-Snack Bundle from Groupon right now!
