From a palatial style wedding at Hampton Court yesterday, to a more intimate but none-the-less beautiful affair at Leigh Court in Bristol today.
This is the wedding of Mr and Mrs Wilson that took place on 1 April this year; "We wanted quite a grand venue for our ceremony and a more relaxed venue for our reception. Leigh Court was perfect as it has a stunning hall with staircases on either side of the 'aisle' which I had to walk down as part of the wedding procession.". The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception at Flax Bourton Village Hall.
Naomi's fabulous vintage style frock was from the lovely ladies over at Fur Coat No Knickers (we're BIG fans of 'FCNK' over here at Love My Dress, in case you didn't know!)
"I really
struggled to find a suitable dress for me, a lot of the more
'traditional' wedding dresses didn't feel or look right as I am quite
short and look quite young for my age, they made me feel like I was
playing dressing up again! A friend recommended Fur Coat No Knickers to me, which is a
fantastic boutique that sources vintage dresses and lovingly repairs and
alters them. I tried my dress on first , a 1950's American prom dress
and immediately fell in love! The style was quite young and fun, it
complemented my body shape, and I felt fantastic in it. I also loved
the idea that my wedding dress, which will remain the most precious and
special item of clothing I will own, had it's own history. The girls in
Fur Coat No Knickers were amazing, they made me feel really special and relaxed and
couldn't be more helpful."

I just LOVE the way Naomi arrived at her wedding venue in her 'beloved' VW Camper van 🙂
"We really wanted the wedding to be fun, relaxed and something for
everyone to enjoy. We took inspiration from things that we love, it's a
day of celebrating two people and keeping the wedding personal to us and
who we are was very important to us."
Naomi's necklace was here 'something borrowed' – from her sister in law, Ros. Her White Feather cape was from The
Trimming Company, London…
Naomi's pretty bouquet was provided by Les Fleurs.
"As it was a Spring wedding, we also wanted it to be fairly informal – I wanted simple, wild
flowers in a rustic posy. As the bridesmaids dresses had a flower
pattern I felt that plain white posy's would compliment the dresses…"
Naomi walked down the aisle to 'My Baby
Just Cares For Me' by Nina Simone…
I absolutely LOVE the short and sassy '60's style Bridesmaids dresses, which were from Chiara Fashion.
Naomi's gorgeous brown faux fur wedding cape that she opted to wear later in the day was from Monsoon…
Cake, delicious cake!
"The cake and cupcakes were made by my
lovely sister in law Alex. I'm a massive fan of cup cakes and thought it
would be easier if the guests could help themselves to an individual
cake rather than having to cut slices for everyone. Alex also made a
Victoria Sponge so that we had a cake that we could cut too."
Barn Dance…
"We had a barn dance at the reception so everyone shared our first dance – entertainment was provided by Neville Higgins…."
Words of Wisdom?
"Enjoy every part of the planning for your day, make sure you have
fun doing it. Don't take on too much either, people are always willing
to help and sometimes keeping it simple makes for less stress and
anxiousness on the day. On the day it really does go super fast, make
sure you take time to take a step back to take in what's going on around
you…"
I do love a sweet set of wedding photographs like these ones, that truly reflect the couples personal style 🙂
Huge congratulations Naomi and Chris on your wonderful wedding – Naomi, you looked knock-out 🙂
Thank you to to Ruth Garner for providing these images.
