Another wrestler has died. Bryan “Crush” Adams from Demolition is dead at 43. He was found Monday at 11:30a ET. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

The story from Slam Wrestling:

A Tampa Police Department report obtained by TMZ.com indicated that Adams “was found by his wife unconscious in bed not breathing.” She called 911, but medical personel were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No reason for his death was noted in the report.

According to the Tampa Tribune, Adams was thinking about a career in politics. He was going to run for Mayor in his hometown of Kona: 

Adams is the second former professional wrestler in the area to be found dead this year. In January, Scott Bigelow, known as Bam Bam Bigelow, was found by his girlfriend in Hudson. His death was ruled accidental.

The Bay area has been home to dozens of pro wrestlers, including Hulk Hogan, Randy Macho Man Savage and Hillsborough County Commissioner Brian Blair.

Blair said he has known Adams more than 20 years. Their last conversation was about a future in politics for Adams who planned to run for mayor of Kona, Hawaii, Blair said.

“I’m sure that a lot of people have a misnomer about wrestlers,” Blair said. “Brian was very articulate, intelligent gentleman who was the kind of guy that put the ‘I’ in integrity. A first-class gentleman all the way.”

According to Adams’ IMDB page, he was arrested on drug and weapons offenses in 1994 for carrying steroids and a stun gun. He was later acquitted of the drug charges.

I have no idea if Adams was a big steroid user. He wrestled in both WWF and WCW. Fans will remember that he put on some size and was super-shredded when he reached WCW. The picture above is from his WWF days and below from WCW.

Take what you want from this, in speaking to our wrestling source…he had heard recently that Adams was suffering from a kidney ailment. His first reaction to the news was, “That stuff finally caught up with him.”

Adams was a good friend of Mark Callaway better known as “The Undertaker.”  He also worked security for Randy “Macho Man” Savage during his short-lived “rap” career.
