In the Middle East which has the world’s largest sour gas reserves, the pressure of demand from expanding economies, particularly in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, is resulting in further examination of their sour gas resources.

Foremost among this regions projects is the Emirate of Abu Dhabi which plans to be self -sufficient in gas by 2030 and ADNOC have recently announced the Optimum Shah Gas Expansion (OSGE) project to be completed in 2023.

QAZAQGAZ TO BUILD GAS PROCESSING PLANT AT KASHAGAN

The QazaqGaz National Company has started construction of a gas processing plant at Kashagan oil field with a projected capacity of 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas, said QazaqGaz Chairman Sanzhar Zharkeshov during a July 22 meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, according to the presidential press service.

ADNOC PRIZE: US ENGINEERING GIANT WINS KEY ABU DHABI CONSULTANCY CONTRACT

Emirati state giant plans to develop a two-train, 9.6 million tpa LNG export facility at Fujairah to cater to several gas markets around the world. US contracting giant KBR has landed a prized contract from Abu Dhabi National Oil company (Adnoc) for the project management consultancy (PMC) work on its Fujairah liquefied natural gas export facility in the United Arab Emirates.
