Satur Farms has long manufactured blanching caps for our own use, but now have quantities available for specialty growers. We found the East Coast too humid to use row covers or to set the plants close together for self-blanching, so we looked to Europe and created a propriety cap with light excluding properties. Our caps, or 'cloches', are durable for repeated use. Capping the plants 5 days prior to scheduled harvest will yield heads with creamy white hearts. We ship in bin quantities, 500 per bin.

We love the rhythm of the seasons and the various produce that presents itself as the season advances.  It's been a cool spring, so we welcome the warmer days when our Wild Arugula thrives. Quality is excellent.

Satur Farms Baby Leaf remains the strength of our farming operation- Mesclun Spring Mix, our Wild Arugula, Baby Spinach, Baby Kale, Mizuna, Tat Soi, Red Mustard, Baby Kales are all looking fantastic. We've also planted ongoing rotations of our blanched Frisee and Gem Lettuces. We are definitely in our 'salad days'!
