I have been coming here for four years on approximately a monthly basis to see Kristina (except of course during the COVID closure last year).
I love the fact that this is a serious massage therapy business. Kristina is simply amazing and she has helped me deal with neck and back pain as well as work through some shoulder injuries. I always without fail feel my massage has helped me and relaxed me and are a vital part of my health and self-care.
I can only believe that the entire team is also skilled and trained and magical in their own way

AND she helps you work on your posture and activity and things you can do long term to help your body! Thank you so much!

My husband and I received a couples massage back in February, pre-pandemic. I do not usually leave reviews but felt compelled to due to our fantastic experience.
We tried to book an appointment for Valentines Day weekend just a few weeks in advance of the weekend. Unsurprisingly, they were booked already but Elizabeth, the owner found a way to squeeze us in. She personally came in on her day off to give us a massage!
Needless to say, the experience leading up to our massage was great and I was so moved by Elizabeth going out of her way to help us. The experience the day of was equally amazing. This was my husband's first massage and they made sure to make him feel comfortable. I really regret not remembering the other masseuse's name, but she was also wonderful.

I swear by TINA. I go to her every chance I get; she studies all forms of massage that interest her, from myofascial release to chakra balancing...and her very favorite part of the body is FEET: how rare is that?

Look for NASTASHIA and her intuitive techniques, and TINA for her astonished shingly strong hands, though you get to determine the pressure from moment to moment. and of course there is ELIZABETH, owner of the company, who got me through 4 months of a huge health crisis; brilliantly but busy so has collected a bevy of other brilliant women to be on the team. not only five stars from me but !

She is precise and thorough. I went to Kristina with a request to work on a specific muscle group. She is flexible on what work is done during the appointment time. From a request given to her, she then works to find root cause of issues.

The space is gorgeous, and while not as large as I was expecting, the layout was perfect for what I needed-- an amazing massage in a quiet room where I could forget about the world for an hour. Their new therapist, Sarah, is someone I would recommend to anyone and everyone that didn't know where to go for a massage, without a doubt. She listened to me when I told her what I wanted and didn't want, and was able to work out the kinks I knew about, and the ones I had no idea existed! To make a long story short, this place will not disappoint you, and the location is perfect to grab a cup of tea after your massage :)

I had a massage by Kristina, she is absolutely incredible. I left the place pain free and so relaxed!!! The owner Elizabeth,is also an amazing masseuse! I can't wait to go back!!!

Kathryn K.Somerville, MA09Dec 7, 2012I have a long history of back problems and I've had a lot of sucess here. Elizabeth listens to what you need, asks questions and she is the best. They (Elizabeth, Jen + Sarah) have a very nice/comfortable space to work in. I highly recommend this practice.

Sophie H.Cambridge, MA2793Jul 16, 2017Updated reviewThis is a second review: despite a less-than-perfect first visit, I decided to give BodyOne another chance and I am so happy I did. Elizabeth is beyond wonderful; she's able to relieve my pain from marathon training, biking with a heavy backpack, and sleeping in twisted positions. I've been back to BodyOne three times since my first visit and I always leave feeling lighter and straighter. Elizabeth does wonderful work with chest expansion, so I also find that breathing is a lot easier the following two weeks after an appointment, something I didn't even know I struggled with. In addition to relieving pain, Elizabeth always recommends stretches and posture adjustments for me to do between sessions, which have been helping me to work on keeping my body pain free. I'm unfortunately moving out of Boston and will miss having BodyOne in my neighborhood, though not before another massage or two ;)

She immediately refunded me the extra money and addressed my other concerns about my experience last week. I had thought that I had misread the pricing section of their website, so I was happy to learn that it was simply an error with an easy fi. I think that my experience was mostly colored by the unexpected charge, so I would be willing to try another therapist at BodyOne in the future, especially after my pleasant email interactions with Elizabeth.
I'd been going to Hands on Health for years, so I was hard pressed to find a new massage place near Porter when they closed unexpectedly. The space is lovely and my massage therapist was very friendly, asking specific questions that determined a logical game plan for my 75 minute massage. However, I left feeling that the large sum of money I paid ($160 plus tip: SEE EDIT, charge for 75 minute massage is actually $120) was not satisfied by this massage: I asked for a firm massage, and while my therapist applied more pressure after I requested more, I don't feel like this was adequate to make substantial progress on my tight back and running ailments. I only treat myself to a massage twice a year, so I wish I hadn't paid more than twice what I would've at Hands on Health to come out of it only feeling slightly relieved and with a knot on the right side of my lower back that was not there when I entered.- fred c.Cambridge, MA01May 29, 2015Updated review
i have been seeing elizabeth for over 5 years. She is just superb and has someone else has said before probably the best massage therapist on the east coast. great knowledge of muscles, very intuitive ( before you know it she has already figured out where you problem areas are) and to top if off a great attitude, a radiant personality that infuses you with energy and optimism! Simply put she has done wonders for my problems, which largely relate to too many crippling hours a day at the computer and extensive travels around the world, all adding pain and stress to my body. She is head and shoulders above all other therapists I have tried in major spas in the Cambridge area and elsewhere. Her technique is superb, complemented by an excellent knowledge of anatomy: in just 2 sessions she had found most of the trouble areas, many of which I wasn't aware of myself. I work out every day and twice a week with a hard driving trainer. Massage therapy with Elizabeth has become an excellent counterbalance for that: the yin balancing the yang. Guided by intuition, her strong fingers quickly and unfailingly zero into trouble areas and then dive deep (ouch!) to fix them. But Elizabeth is more than just a top "technician" of massage: she is an "artist", someone who transcends her technique, and a whole person, who deeply cares for one's well being. She asks detailed questions, listening and modifying her massage in response to my input; I quickly found out that by communicating with her the massage gets better and better. While greatly reduced pain and stress have been the most obvious effects, I have experienced a deeper and subtler one: a wonderful sense of "oneness", of unity between body and mind. Her elegant demeanor and radiant smile add a personal touch to a real class act. Highly recommended: six stars!
