Place seems a little on the low-end. They have a roll of paper towels on the bar instead of having regular napkins. So when your hand is all sticky from the BBQ sauce and you grab the paper towel roll, the sauce on your hand gets on the rest of the paper towels. Not so bad if you were grabbing the ones with your hand print on it but pretty disturbing to be grabbing it with someone else one on it.
I asked the waitress what she liked and she told me to get the brisket. Just like Daisi S said, it was on the dry side. It's kind of bad when I had to soak the brisket in BBQ sauce to make it somewhat edible. My buddy got the smothered burger or something like that and ordered it medium rare. When he got his, it wasn't medium rare but more like well done. When the waitress came over and asked how was everything, we said that the burger wasn't cooked to what he wanted it to be. The waitress said she was sorry about it. We were both hungry so when she came back and asked if he wanted another one he sad no.
You have to eat but want to watch the game. That is the only thing I recommend. Well that and the drinks are not too expensive.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 49528573Apr 12, 2010
With a name like Big Racks, either the restaurant served game meat or it was a small-time Bone Daddy competitor. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the latter.
I ordered the two-meat BBQ platter (brisket & italian sausage). For a BBQ plate, I was surprised there was no BBQ sauce on the meat or plate. Although the sausage was okay, the brisket was quite dry.
I was surprised by one thing: the service. Generally, restaurants similar to Big Racks do not provide decent service to non-regulars. Sitting at the bar, the service was okay which is above-average to other like-places.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 10630992Feb 5, 2012
DELICIOUS BBQ, friendly waitstaff and lots of TVs with sports. My husband and I really enjoyed Big Racks today. He got the sampler plate, and all of the meats were delicious. The brisket and ribs were both extremely tender and the rib meat fell off the bones. My brisket plate was also tasty, and I really enjoyed the fresh green beans and rosemary potatoes. We also got their strawberry mojitos, and I must say they were delicious. They were made with real fruit, not a frozen mix! It was delicious!
We will definitely make this a regular watering hole!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 10, 2012
I did not eat here.
But the Bar was one hell of a Fun Time!! Our bartender, Savannah I think was her name, had one hell of a personality! She was funny and very very knowledgable about Beer and Mixed Drinks.
Good drink special prices. If I return to the area, I'll definitely be back!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matthew A.Avon, IN011Sep 20, 2013
Thursday night.... September 19.
Nicole is the best bartender I have ever met. She is sweet and so friendly it makes you want to stay here all night long. Great mixed drinks and cold beer make this the best place in DFW. Make sure you do whatever it takes to stop by and say hello to Nicole. You won't be sorry.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 28, 2013
I've been here a couple times now, because it's close to the golf course and is a convenient location to get a beer after playing terrible golf.
This place gets one star for it's location and the giant beers.
Otherwise, please avoid at all costs.
For one, this place stinks. And I don't mean it's bad I mean it physically SMELLS bad. It reeks when you walk in and it doesn't get any better. It doesn't smell appetizing. It doesn't smell like a BBQ joint. It smells like someone dropped an entire half-cooked pig somewhere under the floor boards and the carcass is just rotting and stinking up the place. With a hint of BBQ sauce. Seriously, it smells that bad when you walk in. I can't wait to leave just to get away from the stench.
The food was OK my first visit, and downright awful the second. I had the brisket my first visit and it was OK when doused in their BBQ sauce. The mashed potatoes are good because they use a lot of fresh rosemary in them, which is different (to me at least). The creamed corn has zero flavor and I'm pretty sure you could turn that bowl upside down and it would not budge.
On my second visit, I asked the waitress what she liked and she raved about the ribs. So, I got a full rack. They may have been the worst ribs I've ever had. Tough, dry, very little sauce on them, fatty and full of cartilidge. Disgusting. I was still hungry when I left because I just couldn't eat them. I would have liked to have told the waitress, but they are trying so hard to appear flirty and happy that it's not condusive to actually criticize the food directly to them.
Speaking of the waitresses, they dress up (or down?) in boy-short underwear and show off their tattoos and try to look hot. They look trampy to me, and hey I'm a straight guy! You'd think I'd dig this but it comes off as creepy and not cool. I've seen families here: FAMILIES - with KIDS being served by this lady who looks like she stepped out of the pages of a crummier version of Maxim. On my first visit, our waitress was all talkative and sat down and told stories. We were dying for our beer and food. I guess she thought it was cute but we were tired from golf and if you can read your audience you can tell that we were just tired and thirsty and in no mood for the flirty BS that a twenty-something kid may enjoy at a place like this. On my second visit, the waitress was all right but again, the food was so bad, I hope I never have to go back.
So, to summarize, the place smells bad, the food is not worth your time, the big beers are nice and the waitresses are a bit on the trampy/creepy side. Avoid.

UPDATE: I noticed that Kimberly B. of Big Racks BBQ & Sports Grill has responded to this review. I would like to call to their attention the other reviews here which also mention the smell (Travis C on 3/24/2013 and Ingo H of 5/31/2012). And although I'm glad to hear you "pride yourself on the best food" - the majority of reviews here, as well as my personal experience, lead to the contrary. I would suggest some quality control checks in the kitchen to ensure food is prepared correctly, instead of rushed out to the customer.

UPDATE 2.0:
Looks like this place is CLOSED. Maybe these managers that respond to reviews should stop apologizing and proactively FIX the issues? Nah - that would be too much work...Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Def not going here again.
We waited to be seated...and then a nice gentleman got up from eating his lunch to try to seat us. Our waitress was very nice. But the place was dirty! Table was sticky and the bottles of BBQ and ketchup. Grateful for role of paper towels on the table. Prob used 50 of them to grab dirty bottles, etc. Least to say...the place needs a thorough cleaning. I don't even want to talk about the ladies restroom.
Honestly the food was ok...just hard to get past the grossness of it all...makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like....Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks to Heather L. and Traci B.'s recommendation I went here a few months back for poker on Friday night. I did not eat that night just chilled out playing Texas holdem and drinking beer. I then promptly forgot about this place.
Well let me tell you, that was a mistake, after dragging some friends here for some late night Friday holdem, we quickly realized how good the food here really is. In fact, I have been back a few times (not on a poker night) for lunch (can you believe it, I said not on a poker night?).
I am glad that this place is nothing like the old "Cutie Pies" that used to be here, had I been on Yelp when that hole was in business...anyway I digress.
I particularly love the Brisket Enchiladas and when the pulled pork is "on" is is very good in the tacos!!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Heather L.Washington, DC5422685Apr 12, 2010
Ok.. true this place has half nekid fake tanned servers - (and I cant be certain they were the same girls from their website) looking past that, they were very friendly, tolerant of my drunk friends and the food was pretty yummy.
I had some kind of smothered chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes.. and you know what - it was reallly good... and I really wanted to hate it, trust me.. others at my table had chicken fingers - and we tried to shared a banana pudding... we about had a spoon fight over it. YUM!
Overall, it wasnt a bad time, even tho I went in there with a bad attitude, I left with a buzz and happy tummy.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Frank M.Hollywood, FL27136Jul 24, 2010
Before reading this review please understand that i love BBQ. Within the past week I've eaten at several BBQ places and i personally make my own BBQ sauces. I also happen to make some mean ribs. With that said here is my review.
Please for the love of god, NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! i wouldn't let them cater a birthday party for my worst enemy let alone some thing i would actually want to go to.
Heed my warning!
To get an idea of the food, go to your local hardware store and ask for a bag of saw dust and then dive right in. you could add BBQ sauce if you feel that the bark-like favor is just not doing it for you. 14 hours of slow cooking my a$$!
I had a 3 meat platter with some sides. The best thing i ate were the pinto beans. For 14 hours of cooking this meat should have not been dry, but saying it was dry would be doing them a favor. Hence the saw dust comment.
The only positive this i can say about this place is that the service is very kind and attentive. I tip well and made sure that the waitress did not suffer from the fact that the food could barely pass as edible.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
