Writing and Editing

A former journalist and science writer, most of my work since 1989 has focused on global climate change, ozone depletion, children’s environmental health, and other environmental topics. I have written, edited, contributed to, and managed the production of high-profile reports for U.S. government agencies; managed six U.S. EPA websites; and written, edited, or managed the development of dozens of communications products ranging from fact sheets to videos.

My resume and links to examples of my writing and editing projects are available on my LinkedIn profile.

Music

I've been playing traditional Irish music on wooden flute and whistle since 1975, and have performed in dozens of concerts, weddings, dances, theater productions, and festivals in New England and eastern Canada. I also teach Irish flute and tinwhistle. My online guide to the Irish flute is a popular resource among traditional flute players.

You can hear my flute and whistle playing on the following recordings:

I also played some of the music for the soundtrack of "The Blinding Sea," a documentary film on the life of polar explorer Roald Amundsen, by George Tombs.
