One of the Island’s first B&B’s, ALBA, is unique in many ways. Here you can enjoy a quiet and serene rhythm of life and rediscover the beauty of simplicity. After a healthy, homemade organic breakfast you can explore the Island in various ways or relax and unwind in your home away from home.

Only five minutes walk to the most beautiful sunset beach (picture below), the rural environment, with minimal light pollution, provides for incredibly starlit nights with an intensity that’s hard to find elsewhere.

After 13 years under the name La Tartaruga, it was passed on from mother to son, and he chose to honor and name it after her. As Alba means Sunrise, the spirit of new beginnings can be felt not only in the name.

Location

Alba is an enchanting B&B on the Island of San Pietro, right off the southwest coast of Sardinia, a 30-minute ferry ride from Portovesme or Calasetta.

Located just a five-minute walk away from La Caletta, the famous, beautiful U-shaped beach that embraces the sun every evening as it sets into the sea.

Alba is easily accessible right off the island’s main road and just ten minutes by car or bus from Carloforte, the only town on the Island.

GETTING HERE

Delcomar ferries connect Portovesme and Calasetta to Carloforte in 30 minutes with departures approximately every hour in the day and every 2 hours at night.

Once you have come off the ferry, go left and follow the provincial road n ° 103 on the coast or the n ° 102 which is shorter and passes through the inside of the island. Both roads meet at a crossroads, where you will see a sign indicating “Spalmatore 1 km”. After the kilometer, you will find on the left a rock with the words "Spalmatore - Beaches" and a sign with the words "ALBA B&B". At this point, turn left and you've arrived.

A shuttle service is available to and from Cagliari airport and from the port of Carloforte to the B&B.

Rooms

Our rooms come equipped with every comfort and have their own private bathroom with all necessary amenities. Along with this, each room has its own personality and color that correspond to Air and Earth. The use of natural materials enhances the calm and holistic atmosphere.

All rooms have custom slatted wooden king size beds with natural mattresses,  built-in wardrobe, a safe for valuables, soundproof windows with double glazing, adjustable shutters and mosquito net.

Two rooms have air conditioning and one has quiet ceiling blades. The Suite has a loft, its own private veranda and a mini fridge. 

Amenities

This is not the usual B&B: you are welcome back any time of the day or night with your own remote control to a large internal car park shaded and private. The outdoor kitchen and barbecue are available upon request.

We provide free WIFI, beach towels, umbrellas and equipment for the beach and sea, internet, magazines, books, camping cots, highchairs for children, and even a laundry service. Two large verandas are equipped for reading or relaxing and provide the space for a rich, primarily organic breakfast that can be provided upon request. Different dietary preferences can be accommodated.  

Several customer service agreements with nearby restaurants and businesses are available to our guests. We can also provide shuttle service from the airport and organize boat trips and tours around the island (pay service upon request)

PAST, MEET PRESENT.

Built with local stones in the beginning of the last century, Alba once accommodated family and friends during the grape harvest. After being used as a summer residency, it was renovated to preserve the typical and simple architecture of this island's historical abodes, the traditional "Baracca Tabarkina.” The B&B is very well known on San Pietro as it was the first of this type on the island.

After 15 years of being run by Signora Alba under the name “La Tartaruga,” the B&B was passed on to the next generation. Today, she works together with her son Christopher, bringing their visions forward. Their idea is to create a home away from home — a place to welcome people from all over the world to their hidden gem.
