Early concept sketches for the modern tea chest
This piece was inspired by the traditional stair-stepped Japanese Tansu Cabinet. In this design, the cabinet volumes begin to slip, slide, and disappear. An impromptu pair of legs helps support the remaining upper volumes. Cabinets: Poplar, Legs: Walnut. 45" Wide x 34" H x 17" Deep
