For authors choosing the most popular Diamond publishing package, this promotion delivers 30 free paperback author copies when the book is published. Of course, none of those books are really free.

Every word a writer writes must be considered to be an audition, a tryout, part of a competition, the equivalent of a performance on America's Got Talent, American Idol, etc.It would be a shame to turn off prospective readers and lose book sales because of silly, easily corrected errors. How important is book VALUE?
Most books are not commodities like lumber, copper or sugar. Books by different authors, about different subjects written for different audiences are not interchangeable. Shoppers probably don't compare the number of pages per dollar or the number of hours of pleasure provided by two different books and pick the one that provides the best value, like Happy Meals at McDonald's vs Kids sic Meals at Burger King.
My challenge to Top Consumer Reviews: prove you're not full of shit
Reviews of products and services are useful, powerful and time-honored adjuncts to commerce. Consumer Reports magazine has been publishing reviews by professional testers since 1936. Reviews by amateurs on Amazon.com can make a book or other product become a bestseller -- or doom it. According to Amberly Dressler, managing editor of Website Magazine , Consumers are making their own decisions less and less, relying on the reviews of their fellow users to determine where to spend their dollars.

The headline of a previous blog post was Christ-centered Schiel & Denver may be the most dishonest company in the publishing business. Historically I considered PublishAmerica (now America Star Books) to be the worst publishing-services company in the world and Outskirts Press to be the second worst. A while ago I announced good news for Outskirts. I demoted them to third-worst, and leading international book publishing services company Schiel & Denver became the new second-worst.

Until this week, all of my printed books had common 6x9-inch pages. A few years ago I saw a book written by a friend that had larger pages.
