After thirty years on the farm in Dixon, I have moved to the foothills of northern California! I am now located in Loma Rica, off Highway 20, between Yuba City/Marysville and Nevada City.
Over the past twenty years,
I have been doing vintage tube amplifier repair for
thousands of musicians nationwide from my shop located
near Sacramento, only an hour's drive from San Francisco and the Bay Area in Northern California.
To put it simply, there are plenty of people who will sell you new
tubes or a "cap job" and call it amp repair; but my knowledge,
experience, and reputation mean that you receive what your treasured
vintage amp really needs. Yes, you may have the added expense and
hassle of shipping your amplifier to me, but you can be confident that your amp repair will be done right, even if your local tech has gotten
to it first!
An important consideration
in today's vintage amp market is
originality.Preserving original components of a rare
Fender amplifier is becoming just as important as
original wiring in a '57 Stratocaster.
For more about my amplifier repair philosophy, please read The Truth About Vintage Amps. I know what these
amps are supposed to sound like and I know how to make
them sound right. I am a musician, so my
understanding of amps is not merely technical. Whether
it's a rare collectable Fender or one of the old Silvertone amplifiers you had as a kid, my goal is for
you to retain as much originality and
value as possible.
Over the past 15 years, I
have also been restoring and modifying vintage PA amps for use with
guitar and harmonica, including MASCO amps.
